Julie Starling - Creative Writer

Julie brings over 12 years of extensive marketing communications experience, including advertising, branding, sales tools production, direct marketing, packaging and multi-media/Web content development. Her broad industry experience ranges from consumer to business-to-business industries and products to services marketing.

Julie has held various marcom positions within technology and healthcare, including SuccessFactors, Web-based human resource software, Etak, the digital map company, Claris, maker of FileMaker Pro and Camino Healthcare, a networked medical organization. At the foundation of her marcom experience is efficient project management and detailed communications strategy. She specializes in helping organizations position products and services while planning a platform for the creative strategy.

Although the majority of her experience is in marketing communications, Julie recently began offering copywriting services. “I have a passion for writing which comes across in all my projects. I enjoy piecing together a puzzle of words and phrases that help bring clarity and strength to a client’s message.” Julie’s writing portfolio includes a broad range of materials ranging from brochures and ads to white papers, case studies and mission statements.

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Julie received both a master’s and bachelor’s degree in psychology and later moved to Silicon Valley. When she isn’t madly typing away a creative brief, you can usually find her pounding the pedals of one of her many bikes. An amateur road and mountain bike racer, Julie spends much of her free time riding the roads and mountains in Silicon Valley. She also enjoys practicing yoga and spending time with her husband, Scott and her dog, Maggie, also known as, “The Wild Dingo.”
